Abstract

The performance of a region's development can be expressed through various indicators such as Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), Quality of Life Index, and Human Development Index (HDI). This publication uses HDI as the basis for assessing such performance. The advantage of HDI compared to other indicators is that in addition to measuring the social aspect, HDI also measures the economic aspect. HDI can also be used as a basis for developing a framework in development planning.The data presented in the 2012 Human Development Index Publication for Batu City strives to refer to the indicators outlined in the Batu City Strategic Plan for 2010-2012. The data provided includes general descriptions of the region, population quality, health conditions, education, employment, and the local economy.
